The ICIC - Institute of Compliance and Corporate Integrity, created in 2009 by compliance and corporate integrity experts, is a non-profit civil association focused on the study and dissemination of the best practices and the effectiveness of the compliance function, in order to assure the corporate integrity.
The topics corporate integrity and compliance are on the agenda. Companies from different sectors have been developing ethical programs and structured their compliance area. The Brazilian legislation, in the international field, has encouraged companies to structure programs of corporate integrity and compliance.
The biggest challenge is to achieve a consensus about the best practices and also to measure the effectiveness of these programs. This is the ICIC’s fundamental mission.
In addition, another challenge is to convince the entities which have the power of influence over Companies, such as investors, general financial providers and public authorities to demand the best practices and that the compliance programs are effective.
In order to fulfill its mission, the ICIC holds study groups, seminars, courses and lectures with professionals from different areas of expertise. Furthermore, prepares technical material for publishing, such as the Manual of Compliance, published by Atlas.
